A message from IABC Maritime Co-Presidents
On the heels of a busy and beautiful summer, the IABC Maritime Canada Board of Directors has reconvened to kick off the 2017-18 year and to offer chapter members and the broader Maritime communications community high-value professional development, volunteer and networking opportunities.
We’ve got great things planned for 2017-18: Our team has been working hard to deliver fun and innovative ways to help you build skills and fill your toolbox — from learning how to effectively market yourself when applying and interviewing for a new role, to engaging in open and transparent dialogue on mental health and wellbeing in our professions. Rounding out our programming will be our returning favourites: the annual Gift of Communications event in support of United Way Halifax, our LinkedIn personal branding workshop and our content marketing series. And don’t forget our regular Sociables – casual after-work get togethers to meet and mingle.
Our Board also strives to establish lasting partnerships with businesses and organizations across our region. New this year, IABC Maritime Chapter members will receive automatic email notifications about regional career opportunities through our Jobline program. To organizations seeking to share your careers openings with a targeted group of 400+ professionals in business communications, marketing and public relations, we encourage you to consider Jobline as part of your recruitment tools.
We’re so glad you’re here to join us in the year ahead, so don’t be shy! If you’re interested in the benefits of membership or simply want to connect over coffee, your IABC Maritime Canada Chapter Board members look forward to meeting you.
