POSITION TITLE: Communications and Fund Development Officer
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Operations Director and Executive Director, the Communications and Fund Development Officer has an operating philosophy that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of AH.
The primary function of the Communications and Fund Development Officer position is to raise the profile of Alice House through communications, engagement, and revenue development. This position uses their skill set to meet annual targets for fund development and further Alice House’s reach through positive community relations and effective communication strategies. This role will support the growth of Alice House through donor database management, social media presence, content development and fundraising initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communications
Primary contributor to developing and implementing our external communications strategy, including collaborating with program staff to identify storytelling opportunities.
Produces content and messaging to be published on our website and social media sites.
Assists in creating communication materials including media releases, brochures, annual reports, promotional materials, and supporting with AGM planning and execution
Recognition and relationship building of Alice House corporate sponsors and individual donors.
Acts as point of contact for foundations, community partners, NPO support organizations.
Fund Development and Grant Writing
Researches and prepares grant applications for program funding.
Works with Operations Director to ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met.
Works with Operations Director and Executive Director to establish and execute a fund development strategy.
Manages fundraising campaigns.
Maintains online fundraising platforms and donor database, tracking donations and issuing tax receipts in accordance with CRA rules and regulations.
Skills/Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Fundraising, Communications, Public Relations, or similar
Demonstrated knowledge of or experience in the not-for-profit sector
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the field of communications including social media
Proficiency in website and content development
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in grant proposal writing and reporting
Experience with donor databases an asset
Working Conditions:
Monday-Friday office hours
Hybrid role
Alice House Compensation Package:
Pay Range $40,000-$55,000 (starting salary commensurate with education and experience)
