Reporting to AVP, Marketing & Communications, in this position you’ll be responsible for content creation that effectively communicates Sovereign’s HR strategies, organizational updates, and culture & engagement communications to an internal audience, and connects employees to the company’s purpose and values. You are an exceptional written and verbal communicator with a passion for the art of employee communications. You embrace working in an environment of change and can support effective communications to make an impact in a rapidly evolving organization. What you're responsible for:

  • Supporting Human Resources (HR) through the creation of impactful and compelling content (including sourcing, writing, editing, translating, and distributing) to support the understanding of Sovereign’s purpose-driven business strategy, organizational capabilities, high-performance culture, and other HR initiatives.

  • Co-ordinating a cross-departmental (Marketing, HR, Co-operators HR) content calendar to effectively coordinate employee communication to ensure a cadence of communications that are well-paced, consistent in tone, aligned to our brand and employee value proposition.

  • Using creative communication approaches and contributing to content on various channels: intranet (The Sovereign Source), email, Q&A social exchange, and employee newsletter. Content will include, but not be limited to, internal news articles, leader briefs, leadership messages, email announcements, program/project updates, blogs, surveys, podcasts, and videos, and you will make recommendations for new and enhanced content

  • Contributing to the strategy of building out HR communications as its own communications stream, and regularly monitoring the effectiveness of our communications tactics leveraging data & insights.

  • Building plans to regularly monitor the effectiveness of our communication tactics by leveraging data & analytical practices to improve our programs and strategies.

To join our team:

  • 5 to 7 years of communication experience in corporate communication or internal/change communications through a variety of communication channels.

  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related discipline.

  • Exceptional research, story ideation, writing, and editing skills.

  • Experience writing/creating/producing materials across a variety of platforms (electronic, print, social media, video, podcasts).

  • Strong judgement and interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to build relationships internally and work effectively with people at all levels of an organization.

  • Experience in change management or business transformation communication an asset.
