LakeCity Works supports people living with mental illness to build on their strengths, take on responsibilities, and access work experience, education, and employment. As well as our employment support and therapeutic services, we also operate several social enterprises. We’re best known for our flagship enterprise, LakeCity Woodworkers, where we produce beautiful solid wood furniture. Our other ventures are equal sources of pride and include LakeCity Plastics, LakeCity Structures, Reboot, Bright Firestarters, and Vinland, all of which are introduced in more detail on our group website www.lakecityworks.ca. THE ROLE
LakeCity Works is looking for an impact-driven individual to work closely with the leadership team in defining and executing marketing and communication strategies across LakeCity’s social enterprises. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders to communicate impact, increase brand awareness and assist the organization to meet its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing
Support the achievement of LakeCity’s objectives across all enterprises through the development, execution, tracking, and reporting of the effective target-driven marketing plan(s)
Develop a comprehensive understanding of key market segments and stakeholders for each social enterprise
Organize, coordinate and attend internal and external events on an ad-hoc basis
Develop and deliver mixed-format advertising strategy(ies) to budget, engaging target stakeholders
Support the launch of new ventures and/or the refresh of existing ventures
Communications
Develop communications strategies to support special projects such as the annual fundraiser lottery and other LakeCity initiatives.
Engage with stakeholders on social media platforms, including responding to queries and comments in an appropriate, timely, and positive manner consistent with the LakeCity culture and values.
Analyze and report social media insights to guide future social media campaigns and their success
Undertake detailed, ongoing analysis of communications strategies to ensure objectives are being met
Co-develop organizational media relations strategy
Lead execution of media relations strategy such as writing press releases or other editorial features
Design
Coordinate and design all marketing collateral such as brochures, logos, and advertisements
Lead design and production of LakeCity’s Annual Report
Lead content production for LakeCity’s website and social media platforms

Additional Requirements:
Sound understanding of marketing principles
Strong copywriting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate value propositions
Strong administration and organizational skills
Computer proficient with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
A background in marketing, communications, or a related discipline would be advantageous
Must complete a criminal record check

Salary range: $42,000 - 45,000
