Diversity and inclusion survey

IABC Maritime Canada is committed to making progress in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion in our industry. We recognize that there is room for improvement, and we are committed to taking strategic action to advance diversity and inclusion in the communications industry.

As part of IABC Maritime’s commitment to making progress in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, we’re asking our members to participate in a cross-Canada survey.

Developed by our colleagues in IABC Toronto in partnership with the Canadian Public Relations Society, the Canadian Council of PR Firms, Leger, and Breakfast Culture, the survey will gather data on communications professionals’ perceptions and experiences of diversity and inclusion across corporate, government, and agency sectors. The hope is the data will further enable associations and workplaces to take action against racism and advance diversity and inclusion in the profession.

That said, IABC Maritime recognizes an abundance of information exists in this area and that seeking further input can place an undue burden on individuals to share their lived experiences.

This survey represents the first time that the Canadian PR and communications industry will have benchmark data on industry professionals’ understandings of diversity and inclusion in the field. Our hope is that the results will lead to more focus on establishing equity and inclusion in our chosen profession and encourage actionable change among our membership and our organizations.

Complete the 15-minute survey here by January 15th.
