We are the Association for REALTORS® in Nova Scotia, representing over 2,000 members who subscribe to a high standard of service and a strict code of ethics. We act as one voice for real estate in Nova Scotia and serve our members through a wide variety of education programs, training, advocacy and administration of the MLS® System in Nova Scotia.
NSAR is a vibrant organization. While small, with only 16 staff, the Association and its members play an integral role in the provincial economy and has excellent relations with its many stakeholders.
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communications and Marketing Coordinator for a 6-month term position. We're looking for someone who is a team player, great at meeting deadlines, and enjoys a variety of projects and people.
The coordinator will work directly with the Communications Director and Government Relations/Communications Advisor to implement the organization's communications strategies. They will also have an opportunity to experience government relations efforts.

Responsibilities
Member communication: Coordinates distribution of information bulletins, memos, letters, invitations, surveys, etc.
Key Messaging: Helps develop key messages
Brand: Maintains branding standards and helps develop marketing efforts to reflect branding
Sponsorship: Helps develop sponsor strategy and tools for events
Presentations: Assists in the development of presentations and other promotional materials
Statistics: Assists in gathering and communicating statistics
Media: Monitors media and develops media pitches where required. Opportunity to practice media relations.
Writing: Prepares copy/articles for various platforms including social, newsletter and promotional materials
Research: Assists with research for various communications projects and strategic planning
Social media: Creates and shares content across a variety of platforms; assists in management of public-facing and private member-facing social media
Events: Assists with the coordination of special events (fundraising, information session, etc.)
Advocacy/Government Relations: Assist with NSAR advocacy efforts
Photography/video: Opportunity to do event photography/videography. Editing video.
Other projects/duties as required
Qualifications
Education: Degree or certificate in public relations, marketing, communications, or related discipline.
Experience: Experience working in an association communications role is considered an asset. Experience working with a decentralized and diverse membership.
Skills: Excellent writing and editing skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to learn new programs quickly; initiative; working knowledge of social media tools; working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Photography, video skills and video editing considered an asset.

Salary: $52,500 per year (pro-rated for 6 months)
